陈泊宁（中国）
 陈泊宁是上海七宝中学学生，2011年8月赴美国参加富尔顿文化交流项目，2012年6月回国。
I am so glad that I chose to take the chance to be an exchange student. The whole process was definitely worthy and was more than I expected.
I lived in a small town with corn field surrounded the house. At first I didn't enjoy the country so much because it was’t convenient to do anything, but later, I started to appreciate the beauty of the nature. I sometimes just walked along the field to breathe some fresh air and thought of nothing. In that small town, it seems that everyone knows each other. Most people even don‘t lock their door. The relationship between people actually impressed me.
I am one of the lucky students, I lived with a five-people family and another Korean exchange student. Although the Korean girl chose to change her host family for some reason, we had already been friends and we still called each other when we were apart. My host family took great care of me and gave me chances to do all the extracurricular activities I wanted to do so that my experiences would be enrich and meaningful. During the ten months, the family and I have been through a lot together, we went to a wedding, had a baby born, and even went to a funeral. All these events built a close bond between the family and me.
The school i went is a very small public school with only about thirty people in one grade. Despite its size of the school, it actually has brought me so much fun this year. i joined the school volleyball team and softball team. Although i did't know how to play them at all, the coaches still gave me a chance to be a member of them and to get to know what team work is about. I did well in all my classes there and had a good relationship with my teachers. It was fun telling the students there about china and listening to their sterotype about china.
I have to admit that there was some hard time during the ten months: sometimes, I felt homesick; I had a not so good time with my host sisters, but everything turned out awesome eventually. I now have a family in America that will always welcome me when I go there and many friends from whom I can learn another way of thinking. In short, I had a great year there and I think I have grown a lot.
